Although it has been acknowladged as historical site of Islam in Fakfak, according to some sources Wertuar Mosque at Patimburak was not the fisrt mosque ever built. The fisrt mosque was built at Kampung Sekar Lama, which then removed to Sekar Baru in Kokas,  but then it was bombed by USA Allies during WW II. The Wertuar mosque at Patimburak however has been noted as the oldest mosque ever survive today marked the history of Islam in Fakfak
